Update - November 2009

We had requests for a Scissor case to match our new Floral scissors - DD-SC-28 so we created a new colour thread and designed a pretty Floral Scissor Case.

The chart pack includes the design, finishing instructions and the 2 colours of silk needed to stitch it.  Another option is to purchase the pack including the scissors.

OOPS Packs.... We have OOPS packs again.  These bags contain off cuts and rejects.  Packs may contain cotton, perle, silk perle, silk ribbon but mostly stranded silk and the bag weight is equal to 11 full skeins of silk.  $10 a pack.

More new charts this month!

The latest quilt block, Walkabout, is now available.  Walkabout is stitched with 2 skeins of #151 Nabilla and 1 skein of #72 Cabernet.

The Cat's Whiskers new design is called Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat.  This lovely chart is the perfect gift for a new baby.

Heirloom Embroideries also have another 2 new designs.  Hearts and Flowers is a pretty tuck pillow.  The chart includes the instructions for the pillow so you can finish your piece.

The other design, Snow Queen is a beautiful drawn thread sampler.  Full step by step instructions are included plus extra instructions for the drawn thread work.

Twisted Oaks design has a lovely new design, Mollie's Prism of Posies Etui.  Full finishing instructions are included as well as 4 wood bead feet, 4 Mother of Pearl counting pins, 1 Mother of Pearl accented laying tool, Mother of Pearl buttons and enough 03041 Mill Hill beads to complete the project.

We have 3 new designs to release this month.

The Cat's Whiskers have released a stunning new design called Fruits of the Harvest. 

There are two lovely new designs from Heirloom Embroideries.  Sweet Violets and April Rose Biscornu and Fob.

The Stitchers Village is a new collaboration between Jo of Dinky-Dyes and Janie from The Cat's Whiskers.

It is an exciting place where stitchers can gather to shop, take classes, participate in different activities and chat with friends.

The Stitchers' Village opens on February 15th so please come and visit us.

Silks - 6 new stranded silk colours. #158 to #163

We have introduced 26 colours of silk perle in 3 different weights.  The 600d is close to perle 12, 1000d is close to perle 8 and the 1900d is like perle 5.

The silk has the most amazing sheen and takes the colour really well.

Silk Ribbon - 5 new colours now available in both 4mm and 7mm.  New colours are 68, 93, 107, 145 and 155.

Pansy Biscornu is a lovely design which comes in a pack with the silks needed to stitch it.

Celtic Tuffet is a fun 4 sided tuffet.  The pack contains the silk and the pewter Celtic knot buttons.

We will be releasing 2 new pair of scissors at the show.  A shiny black cat and a multi-coloured titanium cat.  We also have a new pack which contains a tiny Halloween biscornu fob and a pair of black scissors.

Carol from Heirloom Embroideries has a new Christmas sampler called Noel Celebration.  This lovely sampler can be framed or finished as a bellpull.

Janie from The Cat's Whiskers will have new Krazy Kitties.  We anticipate these will be available to ship early in October.

September Market

The new St Charles Fall Market was wonderful and the hotel was just stunning.  We released several new designs.  Ghosts and Goblins is just the thing for your Halloween stitching and Floral Diamond Ornament is a stunning centrepiece for your tree.

The Cat's Whiskers has two new Christmas designs, On the 12th Day which can be stitched as a sampler or as Ornaments and a new Hidden Message design called Santa Says.

There is also a new Collaboration Design between Janie from The Cat's Whiskers and Dinky-Dyes.  Live, Laugh, Survive and Thrive is our tribute to those who has suffered from Breast Cancer or have had a family member suffer.  $1 from the sale of these packs will be donated to MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston.

Carol from Heirloom Embroideries has 3 lovely new releases.  Nana's Little Treasures is a pack of 3 lovely biscornu, April Rose is a small sampler and For Laura is a quick stitch alphabet sampler.

Judith from Twisted Oaks also has two new releases.  Ice Princess is a cute skating reindeer ornament and Arabesque is a lovely biscornu.

We are all packed and ready to leave for the TNNA Summer Market in Columbus, Ohio.

Also new is Mt Coot-tha our new quilt block and Kwitchyerbellyakin which is a fun design in another of our Celtic borders.  My husband wants this one to hang in his office!

Brand new is our 4mm and 7mm hand dyed, 100% silk ribbon in 20 of our most popular silk colours.  We will be adding more colours to the silk ribbon range over the next few months.

Janie from The Cat's Whiskers Design Studio has 3 cute Krazy Kitties charts for release.  These cute little guys are sure to be popular.  Silk packs are available.

Fabulous Fall is the last of the Collaboration tuffets from Janie and myself.  These very popular charts have the charts, full instructions and the specially dyed silk.

Speaking of kitties, Judith from Twisted Oaks Designs has come up with another fantastic design for a pin cushion and scissor fob.  Trixie and Treat are sure to keep your pins and scissors under control.  Silk pack available.

UPDATE - April 22

Well, The Needlework Show is over and we had a great show.  There were so many entries for the chance to win a full set of silks and I am happy to say most were correct.

UPDATE - April 11

We will once again be participating in The Needlework Show which starts next week and yes, we will be giving away another full set of silks.  A full set now has a retail value of $295.50!  Winners will be announced here and in my Yuku forum the day after the show ends.

We released several new pairs of scissors at Nashville this year and they are now all available.  We have a lovely pair of titanium storks, blue titanium butterflies, silver swans and our tiny 2 1/2 " titanium scissors.  We have updated our scissors page and you can see them all here.

There are several new designs for release this month.  Judith from Twisted Oaks has two new designs and Carol from Heirloom Embroidery has one.

A Patchwork Garden Pincushion Ball is a lovely pincushion that could easily be used as an ornament and the For Diane Needle Nanny is a tribute to all those who have suffered with breast cancer.  $1.50 from the sales of this pack will go to breast cancer research.

For Amanda is another stunning sampler from Carol and is dedicated to her good friend Amanda who passed away in 2007.

UPDATE - January 30

The Twisted Oak Designs page has just been updated with photos of M'lady's Chatelaine and Needle Nanny.  This is another winner from Judith.

These are 2 separate charts and Chatelaine pack comes with the bone centerpiece and the Needle Nanny chart pack contains all the hardware needed to make the cute little accompanying needle holder.

The above designs are all stitched in #83 Peach Melba in silk, Perle 8 and 4mm ribbon.  Thread packs will be available.

UPDATE - January 28

The Heirloom Embroideries page has been updated with a photo of The Embroiders Sampler.  There are 2 separate charts for this design, the Sampler and Huswif.

I've also added photos of Cerise Fleur and Peachy Biscornu to those pages.  You can place orders for all Carol's new designs at your local Needlework store.

We have some absolutely stunning new releases to show at market.

I will have 4 new designs, 7 new silk colours and 4 new pairs of scissors.  The Min Min, which was first published in The Gift of Stitching magazine last October, is now in chart form.  The Min Min is the fifth in the Quilt Block series and we are also releasing the sixth design, Lasseter's Reef  at Nashville.

Knotwork Cross is a  new addition to Celtic Collection.  This striking cross is the latest of our knotwork designs.

Our other new design is 'Butterfly Garden'.  This chart is free with the purchase of the silk pack needed to stitch it and replaces Blossoms which will only be available while stocks last.

The 4 new pairs of scissors are -  Multi-coloured titanium storks, blue titanium butterfly scissors, purple titanium swan scissors and a tiny little 2 1/2 inch multi-coloured titanium pair.  I'll have photos of these on the website as soon as they become available.  They will all be as reasonably priced as our other scissors.

Janie from The Cat's Whiskers Design Studio has more stunning designs.  The second in the 'Lounge Chair' series is here.  The Garden Chair is just stunning!  It is stitched with Dinky-Dyes silk on Mint Green linen and there is the most wonderful parasol to go with the chair.  Our new tiny 2 1/2 inch scissors will look wonderful nestled in the parasol!

Le Coffre Du Trésor De la Reine (The Queen's Treasure Chest) is another winner.  It is just too fabulous to describe so you will need to take a look for yourself.

We have a new collaboration!  Janie has designed Winter Wonderland to go with Spring Fever and Summer Breeze and it's stitched with a Limited Edition silk created just for this design.

Bianca is the new scissor pocket and has been designed to house the Bianca scissors.  Stitched with a Limited Edition silk dyed to match the scissors and our Kakadu silk this little scissor case is wonderful.  Our new blue butterfly scissors will look wonderful with this design if you would like a less expensive option for scissors.

Last but not least from Janie this year is another collaboration, Purr-fect Bookmark.  This cute one is a Nashville Market exclusive and it too is stitched with a Limited Edition silk.  It will ONLY be available for purchase to those stores who go to Nashville. So, if you want this one... and I know you won't want to miss out, contact your LNS and see if they are going to market.

Judith from Twisted Oaks Designs is also releasing a lovely new design called My Ladies Chatelaine.  We don't have a finished photo just yet, but we have a teaser.  I know you will love this one as much as you do all her other designs.

Carol from Heirloom Embroideries has also been busy.  We are releasing Cerise Fleur, which is another wonderful sampler along the lines of Chocolate and Cherries.  Also new is The Embroiders Sampler or Huswif and we will be previewing For Amanda which will be available in April.

For Amanda is dedicated to Carol's best friend Amanda who passed away last year and is a lovely tribute to her friend.

Last but not least is Yvette from Vetty Creations latest book.  It is Mountmellick Embroidery - Inspired by Nature.  Mountmellick embroidery is a beautiful, highly textured floral whitework embroidery that originates from Ireland. 

This is a fully revised and expanded, full colour, step by step guide with over 600 clear diagrams and photos and it will lead you from beginner to advanced Mountmellick stitcher.

Judith from Twisted Oaks has just released a new Chicken!  This one is called Merry Noel and although she has a Christmas related name she can be easily changed and stitched in snowy colours for Winter theme.

Door Prize Winner

I wanted to thank everyone who entered for my door prize of a full set of silks. There were well over 2,000 entries and about half were right.

Now, there were some people who had my grandchildren's names correct but didn't read the question properly, so their entry was wrong. My grandchildren's names are Madi (Madison), Kayla and Jacob.

The question was.....

Three of my silk colours are named after 3 of my grandchildren. Two are girls and one is a boy. Name these 3 silks. Hint... they are all in the first 80 colours.

So, what I wanted was for you to name the silks that were named after my grandchildren, not name my grandchildren. The correct answer is

Judith will officially release her wonderful new design at Hershey CATS.  Honor Thy Needle is a stunning Pyramid Etui that has a removable pin cushion and  4 lovely ornaments that you can also stitch.

Janie has two great new designs.  Spook - A - Boo! is a Halloween 'secret message' design.  The ribbon unties to find the secret message.  I will post photos as soon as I have them available.  The charts are there though, ready to ship.

The second design is a wonderful stitchers Christmas Card.  The pack contains 6 cards with a photo of a cute little stitched Angel on the front, the envelopes and the chart so you can stitch your own Angel, perhaps finish it as an ornament and send along with the card.

Two new designs

We have again teamed with The Cat's Whiskers to produce a Holiday Ornament pack.  This pack includes the charts for the two ornaments pictured and all the silks needed to stitch and finish them.

Our latest quilt block, Lightning Ridge is now available.  This is the 4th in the series and the 5th, The Min Min, will feature in the September issue of The Gift of Stitching.

Hershey 2007

We will be at Hershey again this year and will be sharing a 30ft booth with Laura from Enchanting Lair.

That's right.  30 ft of silks, charts, scissors and all sorts of fabulous things for the discerning buyer.

Besides our own charts, we will have charts from The Cat's Whiskers, Heirloom Embroideries, Vetty Creations, Twisted Oaks and My Big Toe and subscriptions for The Gift of Stitching magazine. 

I've also been dyeing up a storm and will have a selection of hand dyed fabric and for the first time this year, a wonderful variety of hand dyed yarn.  Yarn to knit, scarves, hats, socks.... what ever you want to do with it.

Nashville News 2007

We are working hard to get everything ready for Nashville Market next month.  There will be 11 new silk colours and 4 of these will be available in Cotton and Perle. 

We have a wonderful Nashville Exclusive Collaboration with Janie from 'The Cat's Whiskers Design Studio'  called Spring Fever and there is a link on our home page if you haven't already seen it. 

There will also be 5 new Dinky-Dyes Design releases and we will have these up on our website before we go to Nashville.  There is a wonderful new Spring design by Stacey Tippin that everyone will love, as well as a companion piece for 'Shiraz Sampler', a new quilt block to go with 'Southern Stars' and 'The Dreaming' and a new Celtic Knot.

'Cottage Garden' is going to be retired after Nashville Market and 'Blossoms' will take it's place.  Like 'Cottage Garden' the chart will be free with the purchase of the silk pack needed to stitch it.  If you haven't got your 'Cottage Garden' chart yet, I suggest your contact your LNS and order it ASAP.

August 2006

We didn't attend Charlotte Market this year but have 6 great new designs that are now available.

Stacey Tippen has designed 5 new pieces for us.  They are 'Kitty Love', 'Summer's Gate Sampler', 'Wave Dancer', 'Sapphire Sampler' and 'Ruby Sampler'.  

Stacey's Kitties are always popular and this valentine Lovely is sure to please.  'Summer's Gate' and 'Wave Dancer' are just stunning and 'Ruby and Sapphire Sampler' can be used as box tops or framed or made into a bell pull.

I have been busy during the Summer but have managed to design a few new pieces.  One, Celtic Celebration Sampler,  is ready for release.  It is mostly blackwork with a few cross stitches and can be used for many different celebrations.  I have charted it as a Wedding Sampler but it is very easy to convert it to your own special celebration.  You can find it here.

June 2005

Our Spring Limited Edition pack was a huge success so we are putting together a Summer Limited Edition pack to be shipped mid July.  The pack will include 2 skeins of silk, 2 skeins of cotton and a 18" x 13" piece of hand dyed fabric.  This is your only chance to get these colours as they will not be included in the regular Dinky-Dyes range.

Packs are $25 plus postage and I will take orders until July 1st or until all available packs are sold.

I have had the great pleasure of  hosting Martina Weber - Chatelaine this past week.  We had a wonderful time meeting the stitchers that came to her meetings and by all accounts they enjoyed themselves.

We are back from a successful trip to Nashville Markets and have just updated our website with photos of our new release colours and designs.  We released 7 new silks and 5 designs.
